Hip-Hop fans were all warm and fuzzy last week after seeing photos of former Roc-A-Fella bosses Jay Z and Damon Dash kicking it at a mutual associate’s birthday party. Although it wasn’t officially billed as the pair reuniting, it did prove that feuds in the rap game don’t last forever.
Over the years, there has been bad blood, wars on wax, fights, threats and more between Hip-Hop figures who all eventually patched up their differences for the greater good. Hip-Hop Wired takes a look at 11 such instances in the gallery.

Snoop Lion (Dogg) and Suge Knight
During the height of the West Coast’s dominance, Snoop Dogg and Suge Knight’s Death Row Records were unstoppable. A falling out between the men took place however, leading to Snoop dropping some harsh diss tracks. Earlier this year, the men were spotted in a nightclub and squashed their differences.
Rick Ross and Young Jeezy
Maybe not an official reunion, but feuding rap bosses Rick Ross and Young Jeezy put the beef aside to appear on a remix of Rihanna’s smash hit, “Pour It Up” along with T.I. and Juicy J.
Juvenile and Lil Wayne
Juvenile was the first major star of the Cash Money Records and left complaining of unfair compensation and other reasons. Last summer, Juve performed with Weezy at Miami’s Club Liv after years of not rocking with the YMCMB gang.
Mobb Deep Squash Beef
In a strange plot twist, the nasty feud between Havoc and Prodigy, friends since grade school, came to an end when the pair announced a 20-year anniversary tour earlier this year. Money must have been talking.
Nas and Jay Z
In the Early 2000s, the battle for New York rap supremacy was at its heights. Jay Z and Nas were both vying for the top spot, and Hov threw the first punch. Nas responded in kind with the “Stillmatic” freestyle and all hell broke out later. Jay’s “The Takeover” had him taking shots at Nas and Mobb Deep, with the QB vet swinging back with “Ether.” The beef died down later and the pair actually worked together on several tracks since.
50 Cent and Fat Joe
Fat Joe and 50 Cent had a tense and potentially dangerous beef on their hands, something Joe Crack spoke on recently on Power 105’s The Breakfast Club. The pair squashed the beef in the name of the late Chris Lighty, the manager who launched their careers.
Common and Drake
In one of the weirdest rap beefs in years, Common and Drake ended their feud in February 2012 at the Grammys despite the pair going at each other pretty heavy in songs. According to a report, Drake’s dad got the rappers to meet on level terms.
A Tribe Called Quest
The on-gain, off-again trials of rap quartet A Tribe Called Quest definitely captivated fans of the legendary group. Although the longtime friends have been touring with each other lately, there hasn’t been any new music but Q-Tip remains hopeful it will happen.
Lil B and David Banner
While David Banner’s “Swag” track wasn’t aimed at Bay Area rapper Lil B, the eccentric “Based God” unleashed a version of the track called “I Own Swag” and seemed to have the upper hand. However, the men decided it was more important to end things on a better note.
EPMD
Long Island rap vets Erick “E Double” Sermon and Parrish “PMD” Smith have gone through two breakups, only to remain strong since. The first breakup was allegedly due to Sermon hiring men to rob Smith’s home. The second breakup hasn’t really been explained but it appears they’re still cool.
Diddy and Ma$e
During Drake’s annual OVO Fest, Diddy and Ma$e rekindled their old magic onstage in a reunion that was nine years in the making.
