Feast your ears on another compilation of audible philanthropy via The Wrap Up. This installment of the weekly series arrives a few days late due to yesterday’s Summer Jam festivities, but the quality of these tracks should make up for our tardiness.

We won’t lie and say that this list was very difficult to assemble. To be truthful, few more than 10 songs that released over the course of the last week were memorable. A couple of cuts feature a legendary MC that’s known to represent Shaolin. Another comes from an eloquently spoken Atlanta rapper most counted out once upon a time. One factor remains consistent, though. Each of the featured songs are heaters.

Listeners will hear an extra emphasis on production this time around too.

Check out The Wrap Up on the following pages to get caught up with a few tunes you may have missed in the last week. You’re welcome.

DJ Kay Slay ft. Fred The Godsod, Joell Ortiz & Raekwon – “Hitman For Hire”

We see multiple generations of New York City MCs on this cut, and for that we thank Mr. Smack Your Favorite DJ.

Joey Bada$$ – “Word Is Bond” (Prod. By Statik Selektah)

Mellow jams and turn up anthem are the yin and yang of summer. Fans need both. The Brooklyn MC provides the former.

J. Cole – “N**az Know”

Cole says he made a “mill off the flow” over his own production. Enough said.

Snoop Dogg & Craig Robinson – “Take Yo Panties Off”

We had to include this song for the laughs alone.

DJ Drama ft. Young Jeezy, Yo Gotti, & Juicy J – “4 What” (Prod. By Drumma Boy)

Mr. Thanksgiving gives us a little something to turn up to with this hard hitting track.

Jadakiss ft. The-Dream – “Big Boy Dialogue”

You won’t find a more aptly titled on this list. Kiss talks that talk on this one.

Mac Miller – “Goosebumpz” (Prod. By Diplo)

Watching Movies With The Sound Off is shaping up to be a solid body of work.

Nipsey Hussle – “Respect Ya Passion” (Prod. By Bink!)

Neighborhood Nipsey speaks more hood proverbs over production by Bink!. We’ve got time for that.

DJ Tony Touch ft. Raekwon, JD Era, Ghostface Killah & RZA – “Unorthodox”

A majority of the Wu connect on a track in 2013; enough said.

Run The Jewels ft. Big Boi – “Banana Clipper”

Killer Mike and El-P released the unchallenged song of the week with “Banana Clipper.” We can’t wait for the full project.
