Drug smugglers are stepping their game up. Two Bronx women were busted wearing homemade diapers filled with nose candy.
Priscilla Pena and Michelle Blassingale, were set to fly out of John F. Kennedy Airport on a Jet Blue flight bound for the Dominican Republic over the weekend. The women were selected for further inspection after drug-sniffing dogs alerted officials to a substance near Pena’s midsection.
Pena “appeared nervous” while her luggage was being searched, raising even more suspicion, even though no drugs were found in her belongings. She agreed to a pat-down, and that’s when the story got weird. Further inspection uncovered the drugs wrapped inside the “diapers” appearing to be made of duct tape.
According to the affidavit, Pena was wearing a black girdle apparatus covered by the silver wrapping. She also ratted out her travel companion, Blassingale, who was then searched.
The women were carrying 6.5 kilos of coke in their homemade butt protectors.
Blassingale remains in custody, and Pena was released on $150,000 bond.
Of course this story seems outrageous but it’s one of many instances in which women have been arrested for smuggling drugs. Last summer two women were caught at JFK trying to sneak two pounds of coke in their weaves, and in Mexico a woman put drugs inside her genitals, attempting to sneak them across the U.S. border.
