It’s been just over a week since YouTube star and friend to Honey Coc-aine, Freddy E, reportedly took his own life after cryptically tweeting about it on Twitter.
Today, the aforementioned Honey Coc-aine commemorates her lost friend on a heartfelt track, titled “He’s The One,” featuring London-based singer Roxie LS. The Cambodian-Canadian rapper earnestly spits about inner battles that plagued Freddy E, which the public, his closest friends and family weren’t privy to. She briefly discussed these same issues in a recent interview with MTV.
In the very same interview, Honey Coc-aine dismissed accusations, most notably from Kat Stacks, that the Youtube star’s suicide stemmed from n failed romantic relationship between them. “What they don’t understand is that we were friends, we were just friends,” she told MTV News. “Blogs are saying that I was his ex-girlfriend and he did what he did because of a failed relationship. That has nothing to do with anything. I need people to understand that it was just a friendship.”
“He’s The One” will appear on GET CONNECTED|BRAND X, a project by Grammy-nominated producers/songwriters/artists The MIDI Mafia, who also created the soundscape.
