While sunbathing in the Bahamas, the Daily News grabbed a picture of Jets head coach, Rex Ryan, with a tattoo of what seems to be his wife, Michelle Ryan, in a Mark Sanchez jersey.
While the authenticity of the actual tattoo is being up for debate among many reporters this morning, there is no doubt that the picture is legitimate. This adds yet another bizarre twist to the circus that has been the 2012 New York Jets.
Rex Ryan came under fire heavily this season after signing insanely popular quarterback, Tim Tebow, to back up Sanchez and to run the gimmicky wildcat offense this season. When those attempts were futile, and the Jets season started slipping away, fans clamored for Tebow to start over Sanchez, which never happened.
Sanchez struggled mightily this season, culminating in the infamous “butt fumble” on Thanksgiving against the New England Patriots. Only once the season was out of reach, did Ryan pull Sanchez from the starting lineup, but in favor of third-stringer Greg Mcelroy.
Analysts and have all speculated why Ryan’s undying allegiance to Mark Sanchez never wavered and this latest revelation only takes things in a strange, strange place. What do you think? Is this much ado about nothing or has Ryan’s credibility taken a serious hit? Check the photo on the next page.
