Luke’s been taking so many L’s lately that you’d think he was the embodiment of the Democratic party.

From hot slugs to a hot acid bath, Luke Cage has been trying to hang on to dear life like Coolio’s been hanging on to his two braids that refuse to lose.

Meanwhile Diamondback a.k.a Willis Stryker a.k.a. Luke Cage’s brother has filled the void left by Cottonmouth’s untimely demise and uses Mariah Dillard’s political clout to help further his devious plan and take over Harlem without anyone even noticing.

Well, almost anyone. Detective Misty Knight’s been trying her best to get any leads on the man who toyed with her life but is still under the watchful eye of her superior, Inspector Ridley. But like Luke Cage, Misty Knight just doesn’t give up.

Here’s a quick recap of Marvel’s Luke Cage, Episode 10: Take It Personal.

Ride Or Die Chick

That acid bath that was supposed to help save Luke’s life all of sudden has him flatlining like Keifer Sutherland in the 90’s. It wasn’t until Nurse Clair decided to throw an electric heater into the acid pool that he was shocked back into existence. Then after cranking up the heat in the acid pool, Claire was able to remove the bullet shrapnel from Luke’s body, hence, saving his life once again.

Perpetrating The Fraud

Looking to instill fear in police while smearing Luke Cage’s good name, a hooded down Stryker uses a futuristic Nintendo Power Glove to lay out a cop with a single punch and screamed “I’m Luke Cage.” After the old timer bites the bullet, police start wilding out in Harlem shaking down the corners looking for leads on Luke Cage’s whereabouts.

The Truth

Turned out her therapy sessions were meant for her to single out the best subjects for the prison tests. Luke couldn’t handle the truth and went on a Hulk like rampage in the barn to prevent the doctor from experimenting on anyone else. Unfortunately the not so good doctor was able to save the files from Seagate on his hard drive.

Playing The Hand Dealt

After a cop beats down an innocent young’n who might have information on Luke Cage, Councilwoman Dillard takes to the news circuit to not only belittle the police but in the same breath encourage them to “arm themselves” against Luke Cage. In other words, buy Judas bullets by the thousands when they become available for purchase.

Memory Lane

Luke goes back to his father’s old church where the son of a preacher man realizes that Willis Stryker is in fact his half-brother. Luke also mentions that he was dubbed the “Miracle Baby” on account that his mother couldn’t get pregnant until he got popped in the oven. Just more reason for Stryker to have hated Carl growing up. And in the preacher’s defense, both these men’s mama’s were murda.

Cornered

Luke Cage and Misty Knight both head to Harlem’s Paradise to look for answers. Luke decided to shadow Misty as she tried to get the drop on Stryker only to end up catching a hot one in the shoulder for stepping into the lion’s den. Luke steps in to shield her from further bullets and an all out automatic assault ensues with everyone in attendance there to witness the mayhem. Unfortunately Luke Cage and a downed officer Misty find themselves surrounded by Stryker’s trigger happy henchmen. Bulletproof Luke Cage can easily get out of this situation but he’s not leaving without Misty. Truth be told, what man would leave a wounded Misty Knight behind? Might leave a wounded Omarosa behind, but not Misty.
