Since the mid 90’s Shawn and Marlon Wayans were seemingly joined at the hip when it came to their comedic shows and movies. But for the past few years Marlon has been going out on his own and attempting to carve out his own niche while trying to prove that he’s more than just a part of a comedic legacy.
Marlon stopped by The Breakfast Club to explain just how important it is to him to be more than just a part of a famous family.
With a few parody films of his own in his back pocket and his show Marlon having been picked up by NBC and set to debut in January, Marlon’s objective is clear and seems to be coming into fruition.
Right now he’s currently doing standup shows across the board in an effort to continue to build towards his legend explaining to Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee that even though he’s thankful for his legacy as a Wayans, he feels that he “ain’t shit till Marlon means something. “

1. Omar Epps
He and Omar Epps went to the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts together.

2. Boat Scandal
The infamous boat pic of Marlon getting a massage from a white girl became a two-year argument with his baby mama. That said, Marlon refuses to refer to his baby mama as his baby mama. He calls her his family.

3. Sleepless Nights
Because of that photo he hasn’t slept with baby mama in two years.

Also his baby mama and his kids jumped him over that photo. Talk about a family that preys together.

While it may sound off to some, whenever he refers to his baby mama and sisters as “dope b*tches” it’s meant as a compliment. Let’s just hope he never refers to Beyonce as such because that BeyHive, boyee…

6. Relationship Status
Marlon feels that the best title you can have in a relationship is “friendship because it bends but it never breaks.” In other words he has no interest in putting a ring on it.

When it comes to his comedy Marlon admits to needing network television boundaries because he’s fully capable of going off the rails like he did with Haunted House 2.
