Swizz Beatz To Host 4th Annual Global Spin Awards

Swizz Beatz, fresh off his 37th birthday, will make a big return to the public eye after it was announced today (Sept. 28) that the producer and philanthropist will host the fourth annual Global Spin Awards. The Global Spin Awards recognizes the industry’s top disc masters and celebrity DJs from around the world.

According to the press release from the GSA team, the nominees were named exclusively on-air by way of Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club morning show with DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God and aired on REVOLT.

Categories include DJ’s and producers from all regions, spanning all genres. Highlights of this year’s nominees are DJ Mustard, DJ Envy, and DJ Skrillex. DJ Khaled and Diplo were among the few nominated for the producer category, while DJ Esco and DJ Clue were among the few nominated for mixtape of the year. Jermaine Dupri, Lil Jon, DJ Daddy Kat (Wiz Khalifa) and Paris Hilton were nominated for top celebrity DJ’s while top album nominees included Calvin Harris and Funkmaster Flex to name a few.

The Global Spin Awards will take place on Nov. 17th at the Best Buy Theatre in New York. The GSAs will take place over an entire weekend, with several featured events including the final McDonald’s Flavor Battle, which was won last year by Los Angeles’ DJ R-Tistic.
