Sunday night (Mar. 8), the now viral video of the University of Oklahoma’s Sigma Alpha Epsilon members leading a racist chant of “there will never be a n****r SAE” has sparked a hashtag and deeper discussion.
Since last night, Twitter users have been adding their reactions to the SAE fiasco using the “#SAEHatesMe” tag. While most using the tag have been supportive of the school’s and the SAE’s national headquarters reaction in shutting down the fraternity, others are taking cheap racist shots as well.
OU Unheard, the group that posted the original video, has launched a hashtag of their own and takes a much harsher stance. The hashtag, “NeverBeAN****InSAE” has been moving swiftly Monday morning (Mar. 9) and showing little sign of slowing down. A warning: the full n-word is written out in the hashtag.
