In October of 1992, Eazy E filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles alleging Sony interfered with contractual arrangements made by Ruthless Records. The lawsuit also claimed Eazy E “was forced under duress” to release Dr. Dre from his Ruthless contract.
In 1996, Knight was found guilty of violating his probation after being captured on camera participating in the beating of Orlando Anderson in a Las Vegas casino hours before Tupac Shakur was murdered.
In 1997, Knight was sentenced to nine years in a state prison for violating his probation. He served nearly five years—most of which were spent in federal prison in Sheridan, Oregon.
During a 1999 episode of VH1’s Behind The Music, Vanilla Ice said, “[Suge] had me look over the edge, showing me how high I was up there. I needed to wear a diaper that day. I was an ‘investor’ in Death Row Records with no return on my money.” He’s since gone on record that Knight never physically threatened him to receive royalty points on the hit song, “Ice Ice Baby.”
In June of 2003, Knight was accused of punching a parking lot valet attendant while meeting with a prominent member of the Nation of Islam to discuss a march for peace to address gang violence. Despite eyewitness accounts that Knight didn’t strike anyone, Knight was found guilty and sent back to jail on a parole violation.
No arrests were made when Knight was shot in the leg during a Kanye West-hosted MTV Video Music Awards pre-party held in Miami in 2005. Knight filed a lawsuit against West that was eventually dismissed.
During another altercation that produced no arrests, a man identified as Greg “The Barber” was captured on film knocking Knight unconscious during an altercation in front of club Wonderland in Hollywood.
In August of 2014, Knight sustained six gunshots after being targeted in an attack at the Hollywood nightclub 1Oak that left two others injured.
In October of 2014, Knight and Katt Williams were arrested and charged with one count of robbery for allegedly stealing the camera of a celebrity photographer.
Authorities are currently seeking Knight out after his alleged involvement in a car accident that left one man dead and another injured. LAPD authorities claim Knight was involved in an argument on Thursday at 3 p.m., with several men who were working on a movie in Compton.
