The highly anticipated reality television show, Sisterhood Of Hip Hop, finally had its big Oxygen debut on Tuesday night (August 12).
The show follows five women MCs –– Diamond, Siya, Brianna Perry, Bia and Nyemiah Supreme, all of whom are chasing her dreams of being a top rapper, while navigating the ins and outs of the music industry. In front of the camera and under the guidance of an industry vet (such as Pharrell or Irv Gotti), each woman is being molded, tested and prepared for what it takes to run with the big boys.
Here are eight things we’ve gathered from the inaugural season’s first episode.

Dyke
Siya is the first openly gay female MC in Hip-Hop (yes, she uses that word).
Rick Ross
Brianna Perry practically grew up in the studio, watching and hearing Rick Ross become who he is today. So it’s to no surprise he plays a huge role in her life as a mentor.
Fine Wine
Diamond grew up to be quite the looker. She started rapping at a really young age as a part of Crime Mob, when she was still in that awkward stage of development. Back to reinvent herself as solo artist, Brittany Nicole Carpentero looks top of the line.
Everything, Everything, Everything
This is how Bia from Boston describes what music means to her. She’s also signed to Pharrell, who seems to be molding and prepping a monster. Let’s wait for it.
New York
Is where it’s at, which is why Diamond is moving. And her family supports her so much, they’re going with her.
Timbaland
Nyemiah Supreme from Queens, NY is signed to the super producer and music legend. And she’s a Cancer –– like Missy.
Bitchy
Apparently, women who rap have to be really bossy and bitchy just so audiences can take you seriously.
Failure to Launch
Siya’s lady, Renaye, is ready to go back to her family in California, despite the fact that she only recently moved in with her rapper girlfriend.
