Even though Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller brought Pittsburgh back on the Rap map, the city is looking to soar with its’ newest champion Boaz. He stopped by The Breakfast Club to discuss his come up and more.
Hailing from Larimer, Boaz has been trying to carve a spot with his own brand of street inspired Hip-Hop. But with the name comes a reputation that he can’t yet shake.
Naturally DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God didn’t pull any punches in their questions. They got him to discuss his past, escaping an indictment, the long-awaited album and more.
So we present the top 7 things we learned from The Breakfast Club Boaz interview. Hearing his drive to the mall with Rostrum Records owner Benjy Grinberg was hilarious to us.

1. The Rep
Apparently Boaz was deep in the streets at one point of his life but didn’t elaborate on his hustle of choice and prison time.
2. Wiz & Mac
Boaz has known Khalifa and Miller for some time. He states he is the oldest out of the trio and feels there is a mutual respect between all three.
3. The Album
He has been rapping since about 2005 but his official debut album is scheduled for this fall. The delay you ask? Life.
4. The Streets
While Boaz did not reveal much about his gritty past he did make a slight mention about missing an indictment that took some of his crew in.
5. Rostrum
He initially didn’t think Rostrum had what it took to work him as an artist but when he saw the CEO wasn’t scared of the streets, he felt it was going to be a good fit.
6. Black & Yellow
While Wiz’s “Black & Yellow” was the biggest thing to come out of Pittsburgh, Boaz feels that the city is still looking for better representation.
7. The Name
Yes, Boaz is his birth name.
