The BET Awards aren’t the only event Drake will be illuminating this summer. After previously announcing plans to host a “Houston Appreciation Weekend,” an ode to one of his favorite cities, the Canadian crooner makes good on his promise and releases the full schedule. Lucky for fans in the H-Town area, October’s Very Own has stretched the concept of a weekend into a four-day event.
Starting Thursday June 12, the fun-filled weekend has already been sculpted the fit the needs and wants of groupies and sneakerheads alike.
The Houston Astros are getting themselves in the mix by hosting a spinoff “Houston Appreciation Night” that will be MC’ed by Drizzy at Minute Maid Park. Later that evening, an inaugural party will be held at 5th Amendment Bar, located at 2900 Travis St.
For Friday, Lil Wayne and the Young Money Cartel are slated to join Driz for an after party following a concert in a warehouse. The actual weekend isn’t shorting partygoers in the slightest, seeing that a pool party to coincide with the Think Like a Man Too premiere will take place on Saturday and a celebrity basketball game will close things out on Sunday.
