Even outside of his Maybach Music Group affiliation, Meek Mill is considered one of Rap’s top performers. As he preps the release of his sophomore album, Dreams Worth More Than Money, he checked in with The Breakfast Club.
While his music generally speaks to his allegiance to the streets, Meek is starting move differently in terms of his content and goals. Of course DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God pressed him with questions that and thankfully he didn’t blink.
In an almost 50 minute interview, the Philadelphia native opened up about several subjects including rapper beef, the City of Brotherly Love, 50 Cent and more. Bottle Service
Even though bottles surround him at events, Meek says he isn’t a big drinker. Additionally all the bottle service comes complimentary from the clubs. So don’t go broke trying to keep up.
Philly Rappers
Currently Meek is cool with a lot of Philadelphia rappers including Gillie Da Kid but still has no love for Cassidy.
The Law
Unfortunately his legal troubles are from over. Meek recently lost his lawsuit against the city of Philadelphia, continues to 2her harassed by police and is still on probation even though he has been trouble free for the last five years.
DJ Khaled
The “They Don’t Love You No More” was originally Meek’s record but once DJ Khaled heard he begged to make a single for his upcoming album I Changed A lot
Hometown
Due to his probation he is not allowed to move out of Philadelphia. He understands that staying in his hometown is like an accident waiting to happen but he has to play by the judge’s rules.
Rapper Beef
Meek also plays it cool when it comes to Rap beef. He stated that if it is real beef he will jump into it in a heartbeat if it is just records he’ll stay out of it. Hence him being friendly with 50 Cent even though his boss Rick Ross has had a sour relationship with the G-Unit CEO.
Screaming & Shouting
Meek is famously known for screaming on his records. When faced with the general perception that he screams on much of his records, Meek admitted that he is aware of signature. Thankfully we can expect some more monotone material on Dreams Worth More Than Money.
Family Or Nah?
Meek has had some noted disagreements with his son’s mother but he stated he doesn’t pay her any mind. When asked about a possible clothing line, he knew nothing about it and could care less.
The ‘Gram
Meek’s Instagram account is filled to the brim with photos of jewelry, luxury travel, cars and more. He admitted that he doesn’t do it to show off but to inspire his fans and remind him to work harder.
