Naturally DJ Envy, Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee got to the bottom of their surprising connection, asked for a Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta update and more.

How They Met

DJ Steve Aoki and Waka met while on tour. They liked each other’s vibe and felt that doing a record was a must.

Brrrr

When asked about his former mentor Gucci Mane, Waka simply stated he doesn’t know where he is at and could care less.

Cake, Cake, Cake

Waka thought his live shows were turned up but he gave props to Steve for all the theatrics that go into his shows. This includes robots, a raft, crowd surfing and throwing cake in a fan’s face!

DJ Rumors

While the cake is always present at his shows, Steve denies pulling out his genitals on his equipment as many websites have reported. Nullus.

The Aoki’s

Steve’s father founded the famous Benihana restaurant chain. While his family no longer owns it, his siblings still keep a hand in the service business.

Hip-Hop

While Steve has worked with Waka, Ty Dolla $ign and other rappers, he doesn’t follow the Hip-Hop jig. When asked if he knew what Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta was he replied, “is that on Revolt TV”?

Love & Hip Hop Beef?

When asked about his appearance in Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, he says he could care less and doesn’t know what’s really going on with this upcoming season. He did mention if he had beef with Joseline Hernandez he might have to sneak punch her.
