Wrestling’s greatest run has finally come to an end as Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker at last night’s WrestleMania XXX — and nearly decimated the Twittersphere as we know it.
Spoiler alert! If you weren’t watching WrestleMania XXX, you probably want to catch up before reading this any further. If you do know what happened, chances are your mind was blown and your face was melted as the Phenom, The Undertaker, and his 21-0 streak finally came to an end.
As WWE fans still struggle to cope with their new reality, the Reality Era further cemented itself as a new regime within the industry. “The Streak” has been a staple for the annual pay-per-view event over the past two decades, with ‘Taker’s first win beginning at WrestleMania VII in 1991. With Hall of Famers such as Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H serving as the Deadman’s victims, it seemed like The Undertaker’s reign would never end.
But after three F-5’s from Lesnar proved to be too much for ‘Taker to handle, the 1-2-3 count created a moment that stunned wrestling fans and personalities alike.
