T.I. has been in the middle of some rap beefs over the course of his career, so it comes to no surprise that Tip had a hand in ending a heated Down South feud. The self-proclaimed “King Of The South” explained recently how he helped squash the beef between friend Jeezy and Rick Ross for the sake of better business.
T.I. spoke with MTV News on Tuesday (February 12) regarding his new role as Hip-Hop fashion label co-owner and former drug dealer Lucas Frye for the third season of Showtime’s House Of Lies series. However, the Hustle Gang boss was asked to confirm rumors if he was the reason the epic “War Ready” track from Ross’ upcoming Mastermind album with Jeezy took place.
“I ain’t gonna say I brokered peace and got them in the studio, I simply said to one of my closest partners in the game, Young Jeezy, I simply said to him, ‘We done did as much as we can do with this. It’s gone as far as we can take it, ain’t nothing else to do’,” he said in a phone interview.
T.I. added, “If it ain’t nothing that can’t be talked about, that hasn’t gone so far that a motherf–ker can’t come back and do what the f— we do man, get money. War cost money.”
T.I. did say that getting Jeezy to agree with the ending of the feud wasn’t an easy task, but he found a way to communicate to his friend that making money as musicians was far more important than dragging on the beef.
Last Friday, Ross told MTV News in a statement that peace was the best option for both men, and their chemistry on “War Ready” is undeniable.
