When it comes to creative expressions in the form of lyricism and wordplay, Hip-Hop just may trump all other music genres by a longshot.
Take a rapper like Rick Ross for example. He twisted his own stage persona and tied it into the struggle history of MC Hammer for a record that showed the spiral of balling out of control. Or a starving Kendrick Lamar who, on the song “Michael Jordan,” compared his aspirations to be the top of the game to a young North Carolina boy who felt the same way after being cut from his high school basketball team.
That doesn’t mean rappers can’t get a little silly with the metaphorical rhetoric from time to time.
There are plenty of artists who have trolled us with song titles referencing famous figures only to turn out to be something completely out of the ordinary.
We found 11 songs with misleading celebrity titles and brought them all together for your enjoyment. The sounds and the time stamps are all over the place just like the subject matter.

Outkast – “Rosa Parks”
The Aquemini twins boogied in the name of the Civil Rights figure and were sued. We still love the music, anyway.
Migos – “Hannah Montana”
Atlanta’s most waviest trio recently pulled this trick with Charles Barkley as well. At the rate they’re going, Migos Greatest Hits is going to read like the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Jay Z – “Tom Ford”
While the Migos pack Molly to slang to college kids, Mr. Carter doused his body with $500 cologne. Take that Migos! Wait, what?
Beastie Boys – “Paul Revere”
A classic song but nary a Redcoat in sight.
Curren$y ft. Freddie Gibbs – “Scottie Pippen”
If Spitta only made one reference to Michael Jordan’s sidekick, how many do you think Gangsta Gibbs did?
Mac Miller – “Donald Trump”
The real Donald gave young Malcolm his props and then backpeddled when he saw it was becoming a hit. Still, there isn’t much similarities between the song and his mop-top aside from the title.
Kanye West ft. Lil Wayne – “Barry Bonds”
Lord Yeezus likes to pinpoint this record as the moment rapper’s switched up their punchline format. He may be slightly accurate but they could have named this joint “Colonel Sanders” and gotten the same result.
Lil Wayne – “Bill Gates”
As much stuntin’ Young Money/Cash Money does, Weezy picked the song named after Microsoft’s genius to stack up the lyrical body count. Oy vey.
Drake – “Wu-Tang Forever”
The 36 Chambers group may have approved but there is nothing sexy about Shaolin.
Evidence ft. Alchemist – “James Hendrix”
The Stepbrothers have mad chemistry but Jimi was a rock star, not…whatever it is they did here.
Nas – “Louis Farrakhan” Untitled
No matter what Nas decided to call the song (or album), it doesn’t mask the nonsensical nature of a great deal of it.
