An array of musical artists and entertainment figures alike gathered at Las Vegas’ Orleans Theater in the spirit of love, peace, and soul at the 2o13 Soul Train Awards. Aired on BET and Centric last night (December 2), the show was hosted by actor Anthony Anderson, who kept the jokes flowing.
Soul Train tipped its hat to 90’s music, as Hip-Hop and R&B stars from that era and familiar faces of today gave live renditions of classic records. Performers included Wale and Stokley Williams of Mint Condition, T.I., Slick Rick, Warren G, Dougie E. Fresh, and Big Daddy Kane on the rap side of things.
Singers and songstresses like K.Michelle, Tamar Braxton, Keith Sweat, Faith Evans, Ron Isley, Jon B., and Jennifer Hudson also graced the stage with special performances.
Relive the night via footage of the night’s pinnacle moments starting with the openly medley featuring Hudson, Chaka Kahn, T.I., and Evelyn “Champagne” King below. See more of the 2013 Soul Train Awards in a gallery on the following pages.
