Jeezy thinks Def Jam is slacking on the promotion of his new album. Yesterday (November 12), the Snowman took to Twitter to vent about the two years he has put in to making his forthcoming project.
“where @LA_Reid when u need him #RIPShakirStewart,” tweeted the Atlanta rapper, referring to former Def Jam executives LA Reid (who now runs Epic Records) and the late Shakir Stewart, who was instrumental is signing the man born Jay Wayne Jenkins to the label.
The “Put On” rapper continued, “I been perfecting this album 2 years for #myfans. Ni–as @ @DefJamRecords keep playing games if you want!”
That’s when El Jefe, who just dropped a new Drumma Boy-produced song called “Foul Play,” threatened to leak the album as an early Christmas gift, to his fans, of course. He also called out a couple of Def Jam execs by name; Universal Music Group Chairman & CEO Lucian Grainge and Island Def Jam Music Group Chairman & CEO Barry Weiss.
