Happy Turkey Day family. We won’t call it Thanksgiving Day since our Native American brothers and sisters got swindled, but that’s another story. On this day when folks give praise—and stuff their bellies—to all the blessings they have received in 2012 while surrounded by family and friends, we couldn’t help but think about what we’re thankful for in the rap game.
While ratchetness and f-ckery—whether it be senseless beefs or the proliferation of struggles rappers, for example—still abound, there are still many facets of the Hip-Hop world that make our daily routine of bringing you all the rap news fit to link worthwhile. Read below and click through the pages to see and read all that the Hip-Hop Wired crew is thankful for right about now…
We’re thankful Dr. Dre didn’t give Kendrick Lamar’s good kid/M.A.A.D. city the Detox treatment, and it actually was released. Also, that K. Dot showed you don’t need a “hit” single to sell albums.
We’re thankful a Steebie J and Joseline album is not in stores right now.
We’re thankful that Shyne has Twitter just for the hijinks. Sort of.

Our Senior Editor Kazeem Famuyide (and probably the good D.L. Chandler too) is thankful for the Based God. However, aqua and Latifah are cool on that.
Kaz is also thankful that the Knicks are 8-1 8-2.
We’re thankful for the inclusion of Kenya Moore’s buttcheeks on Real Housewives Of Atlanta
We’re thankful for the new Jay Electronica album we are playing nonstop right now. Oh wait…
