In honor of Eminem’s 40th (damn, 40th?) birthday, Hip-Hop Wired is taking a look back at the amazing career of one Marshall Mathers. You can go on for days talking about the man’s lyrical accolades, but Shady has also been behind some of the greatest music videos in Hip-Hop history.
Ranging from the zany to the poignant to the horrifying and inspiring, Eminem has touched on it all since crashing the Hip-Hop party in the late 90s. Ever since he blew up with “My Name Is,” his popularity and creativity in his music videos have only gotten greater.
Although he may not be as visible as he once was, Marshall has delivered more personal and entertaining music videos to last multiple careers. On this week’s Wired 25, we take a look at the 25 greatest videos in Eminem’s illustrious history. Check it all out below.

25. “We Made You” – Relapse 2009
Eminem made his triumphant return to music with this zany video, spoofing many of pop culture’s biggest names of the moment. A Shady specialty.
24. “A$$ Like That,” Encore, 2005
Throwing in a few bonus tracks for his would-be “best of” CD, Curtain Call, Marshall’s ode to the gluteus maximus features a cameo for Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.
23. “Forever” ft. Kanye West, Drake and Lil Wayne, Music From And Inspired By The Movie: More Than A Game, 2009
Reports of Marshall’s demise after the critically planned Relapse were greatly exaggerated after he showed up three of the biggest rappers of the moment on “Forever.”
22. “Sing For The Moment,” The Eminem Show, 2002
One of the best songs on what is arguably Eminem’s best album shows just how far the controversial rapper had come in that short of a time.
21. “Just Lose It,” Encore, 2004
Costumes? Check. Funny voices? Check. Wild content? Check. Yeah, for a while now when Marshall was dropping a new album he would kick it off with kooky videos like this.

Eminem’s passionate verse dedicated to the man who essentially saved his life is on display in this big budget video.

Nobody gives more love to the pawno stars than Marshall Mathers. In this video, he refuses to play Captain Save-A-Ho with adult film star, Gina Lynn.

Dedicating the video to the hard hit area of Detroit in the midst of economic struggle, Eminem gives the city and anthem to keep calm and carry on.

Slim Shady and Lil Tunechi battle for world supremacy literally and lyrically in this video for “Drop The World.”

Probably one of the more enjoyable of the wacky Eminem videos, Slim Shady comes to the rescue to save rap in the lead off single for The Eminem Show.

Eminem gives a real glimpse into his personal life and who he lives it for in this video for “Mockingbird.”

One of the earlier and grittier Eminem videos, Marshall’s calling card is all in the title of this Slim Shady LP video.
12. “Guilty Conscience, ft. Dr. Dre” The Slim Shady LP, 2000
This video dominated MTV’s Total Request Live at the end of the century which featured Dre and Eminem trying to save the common man from making dire mistakes.

One of Mr. Mathers’ favorite targets, his mom, gets the brunt of his fury in “Cleaning Out My Closet.”

As Eminem was rising from stardom to superstardom, “The Way I Am,” showed that the life of a musical juggernaut isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

For the first time in his career, Marshall Mathers didn’t start off the promotion of his album with a cartoon-ish video. The newly-recovered rapper put out a message to those who went through his similar struggles and hit a homerun.

The iconic visual of the “Million Marshall March” is forever etched in the brains of Hip-Hop heads and Stans alike due to this song. So much so that the phrase “Will the real ___, please stand up” became part of the pop culture vernacular.

Eminem expressed his inner struggles to end vendettas between warring camps, Benzino and more which end in his best friend, Proof’s murder. Sadly, life imitated art as Proof would be gunned down in his native Detroit.

Nobody tells a horror story quite like Shady, so in this video for “3AM,” he brings it to life in his gory video.
5. Forgot About Dre, 2001, 1999
Before Eminem was murdering people on their own s**t, he did it to his own mentor on “Forgot About Dre.”
4. “My Name Is,” The Slim Shady LP, 2000
Talk about making a great first impression, Eminem was introduced to most of the world with this hilarious music video.
3. “Love The Way You Lie” ft. Rihanna, Recovery, 2010
The seriousness of domestic abuse is documented in this award-winning video for “Love The Way You Lie.” There couldn’t have been a better person to sing this hook than Rihanna.
2. “Lose Yourself,” Music From And Inspired By The Soundtrack For 8 Mile,
Possibly Eminem’s single greatest song, “Lose Yourself” encapsulates the rise of this battle rapper to international superstar. You can do anything you set your mind to man.
1. “Stan ft. Dido” – The Marshall Mathers LP, 2002
Not only did “Stan” create a word that is forever etched in Hip-Hop dictionaries, but it showed off Eminem’s creative genius in storytelling in this video and song about an obsessive fan.
