Carnival is in February, but don’t tell Nicki Minaj. The YMCMB rapper went back to Trinidad on July 4th to shoot the video for “Pound The Alarm” off her gold selling sophomore set, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.
Trini/Soca music stars Machel Montano, Fay-Ann Lyons and Bunji Garlin were on hand to turn things up. Last weekend, Nicki was in LA performing “Champion” and “Beez In The Trap,” along with 2 Chainz at the 2012 BET Awards, where she won a Best Female Hip-Hop Artist award.
Watch a teaser for the video of the club friendly track, shot in Minaj’s native land, below and check out the colorful photos in the gallery. Yep, that’s Birdman on a float.
