Earlier this morning in a not so sunny day in Philadelphia, Jay-Z held a press conference announcing his two day musical festival on Labor Day Weekend entitled Made In America. It started out all good at first, and even the biggest rap snobs were ecstatic to see former Roc-A-Fella artist and Philly native, Freeway, on stage with Jigga.

But then that’s when things got awkward. Check the pics after the jump.

After announcing Freeway to the stage, the beard was politely escorted off the stage by the Big Homie. If you pay attention, the old white guy on stage (who one can only assume is in charge because he is the old white guy on the stage) invited Free to pose for the picture. As Free left, he even gave Jay-Z the “damn, that was cold,” look before continuing to pose.

The awkwardness continues as Free, stuck in a pickle, just kind of hangs around on stage as photos are taken. “Do I stay? Do I go?” he must have wondered aloud. Instead, he chose to stay to the edge of the stage, arms folded.

Hands in the pockets, just hanging around now. Even Mayor Michael Nutter is giving Jay-Z the look like, “I should probably shake his hand too, right?” Yes, Mayor. That’s young Free! He put on for your city before you were even in office, dude. Shake his hand!

This is the worst one. So cringe worthy.

It was all good at the end, Jay-Z and Freeway properly posed up for the Instagram flick. All is well in Roc land. Jay better let him rock “What We Do” to close the show after all of this.

Even Mayor Nutter got some act right.
