Go watch Thor.
The best thing about The Avengers is that you don’t have to be a complete fanboy to enjoy the movie, but if there was one movie that you probably should see before this , it is Thor. Loki, Thor’s younger brother is the main protagonist of this movie and to understand why he is so bat s**t crazy and hellbent on destroying the Earth, you should see exactly why in Thor.
Captain America is kind of a racist.
He was unearthed after being deep frozen during World War 2. So you can understand why the blonde haired founding member of The Avengers still carries some subtle characteristics of a pre-civil right era American.
You don’t HAVE to watch all of the prior movies to enjoy it.
Like I stated earlier, the best part about The Avengers is that it pleases the fan boys and the casual observers like myself. It is an awesome popcorn flick full of action, explosions, kick A$$ fight scenes and more. It is exactly what going to the movies should be about.
The Hulk will deservedly get a proper spinoff after this.
Without giving too much away, The Incredible Hulk owns this flick. The subtle buildup to his eventual rage orgy that he has towards the end of the movie is worth the price of admission.
This could have easily served as Ironman III.
Each of The Avengers get their equal time, but Tony Stark is the guy who makes this movie go. Joss Whedon’s knack for getting Robert Downey Jr’s perfectly timed one-liners throughout the film is where a handful of the movie’s more humorous moments from.
Don’t use any bathroom breaks
This movie is over two hours long but doesn’t drag. Each of the dialogue is vital and all the fight scenes are epic. If you take 5 minutes out to go spring a leak, you will have missed a whole lot. Trust me.
Samuel L. Jackson doesn’t curse nearly as much
What is a Samuel L. Jackson movie that doesn’t have him cursing like a sailor? Playing Nick Fury, he is the commander of the coalition that brings together The Avengers, known as SHIELD. While he keeps his cool throughout the flick despite enduring an enormous amount of casualties, Jackson saves the sailor mouth for the end of the flick when it seems that Earth is up s**ts creek with out a paddle.
It lives up to the hype
Enjoy this movie. It is all that and a bag of chips. It seemed almost impossible to live up to the hype of a five movie set up to one big uber movie, but The Avengers does it. Easily, this is one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.
