Hip-Hop is a confrontational form of entertainment. It is all fun and games until somebody feels threatened by the success of another entertainer in your lane, and that is usually when things get fussy. Altercations, beef, whatever you want to call it, but when conflicts happen between two artists, something has got to give.
When the bark doesn’t tend to match the bite however, the result is the following: rappers copping pleas like they are buy one get one free. Check out some of the best scenarios where rappers popped ish, then apologized. There are plenty more of pleas that have been copped, but if you feel like we left some out, shout at us in the comment section!

Jay-Z Apologizes To Jadakiss
As the legendary “Ether” lyric goes, Jay-Z “popped ish and apologized, n***a just ask ‘Kiss.” This defiant boast by Nas against his one-time nemesis Jay-Z was something that you might be hard pressed to see in today’s day and age. Back in the 2000s when Jay-Z and Jadakiss were both staking their claim to be the King Of New York, Jigga and Kiss would send subliminal disses towards each other in plenty of songs. Beanie Siegel and Jadakiss were beefing, so Jay-Z took Jadakiss’ off a “Fiesta,” remix they had worked on. Beanie and Jadakiss squelched the beef, and Jay-Z apologized on Hot 97. Also, according to multiple sources, Jay-Z and Jadakiss had saw each other in the same club at the height of the tension and the Jigga man went on to personally apologize to Kiss and his D-Block cohorts.
Tyler, The Creator and Odd Future Back Down From Chris Brown
This time last summer, Odd Future sure loved picking a fight with a certain oft-blonde haired R&B singer. Tyler would rap on “Assmilk,” saying “Rihanna haircut, someone tell Chris Brown to f**k me up.” Also, Tyler would taunt Brown by calling him Sisqo and asking him if “he liked soup,” whatever the hell that means. Anyway, when Chris Brown complimented a rising Frank Ocean on his song “Novacaine,” by liking him to James Fauntelroy, a compliment Mr. Breaux took as a diss. He responded by calling Brown “Ike Turner,” and it was on like popcorn. Breezy and his goons would run up on Frank Ocean with camera in tow imploring Ocean to “take the fade.” Plenty of back and forths went on between the camps until Tyler retreated with this series of tweets.
Shortly after this, Breezy apparently called off the dogs and all was well in musicland.
Canibus Disses J.Cole And Apologizes The Next Day
Somebody woke up Canibus out of his hibernation and the first thing he decided to do was diss one of his biggest (and most relevant) fans, J. Cole. Why? Who the hell knows, but it all ended in Can-i-Bus begging for a check at the end of it. That ain’t Hip-Hop, son.
Joe Budden (Mickey Factz) and The Wu-Tang Clan
After a Twitter tirade when Joe Budden claimed he was a better rapper than Method Man (by way of a VIBE poll of the greatest rapper alive), this sprawled into an all out war of words between Mouse and the Wu-Tang clan that eventually ended in Joey getting lumped up. Directly after being outnumbered one and eight and admitting to apologizing about his boasts, he got onto UStream to take questions from fans with the ice pack still in tow. What was Mickey Factz doing throughout all this you ask? Chillin.
Kat Stacks Cops Pleas On Everyone
Now everything about this is just wrong. We all know the history of Kat Stacks and how she pretty much got famous for whoring herself for rappers and trying to “expose” them, but as with all things, the actions have consequences. Allegedly, the family of Lil Twist came to confront the woman about allegedly lying on the then-underage Young Money MC. Remember kids, hitting women is never cool, no matter how bad they have it coming.
Young Buck Cries And Cops Pleas To 50 Cent
It’s crazy to think that 50 Cent is going to be known as a philanthropist who wants to feed hungry kids in Africa because people like us will remember Curtis as one of the most ruthless dudes in the history of Hip-Hop. Young Buck was in a bad way with his contract situation, and after a falling out with G-Unit, a sobbing Buck called up 50 to apologize and try to make good. However, 50 had the whole conversation on tape and released it on his website. What is it that Rick James says? Cold blooded!
Charles Hamilton and The City Of Detroit
Walking punching bag, Charles Hamilton once wasn’t always the butt of everyone’s jokes. The once promising MC had a huge record deal and the hip-hop world eating out the palm of his hands until this fateful moment. When he was releasing his highly anticipated album and saying it was produced by J. Dilla, and it wasn’t, Mr. Hamilton found out just how cold in the D it can get. After Ma Dukes and Illa J all claimed to not even know the kid, the entire city of Detroit was ready to tear the poor kids head off. Since then, plenty of apologies were made but he hasn’t recovered since. Oh, and then this happened.
