While we’ve had huge names like Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Kanye West and more dominate the Summer, there are still many albums we are looking forward to in the Winter.
Whether it is a prominent emcee’s debut album or a veteran rapper releasing more heat for their collection, the last 4 months of the year will definitely not be a dull one.
Peep the page #’s below to see our 10 most anticipated Hip-Hop Albums for the rest of 2011, and make sure to tell us who you are waiting for.
J. Cole – “Cole World: The Sideline Story”
While “Work Out” and “Mr. Nice Watch” were both kind of let downs, we know the potential Cole has and are hoping his debut album will show it.
While Cole stays away from TOO many featured artists and producers, we still get a style switch up with Jay-Z, Trey Songz, No I.D., Drake, and more.
Dropping on September 27th, let’s hope a Cole World is not a disappointing one.
Mac Miller – “Blue Slide Park”
Say what you want about the Pittsburgh teen, but the hype is real and the debut album is one of the highest anticipated ones on the internet.
Already co-signed by Donald Trump himself, the Rostrum Records Freshman of the Year is looking to prove why numbers don’t lie, and why he is one of the highest viewed/listened to rappers online.
Make sure to pick up “Blue Slide Park” on November 8th.
9th Wonder – “The Wonder Years”
“The Wonder Years” is an upcoming fourth compilation album by 9th Wonder that will involve some of the best non stream Hip-Hop acts.
Scheduled to be released on September 27, the album will feature the obvious dope production from 9th himself, as well as rappers Skyzoo, Fashawn, Blu, Kendrick Lamar, & many more.
While we sometimes get caught up with the big names, it’s good to see 9th and “It’s A Wonderful World Music Group” are still giving us the soulful Hip-Hop sound.
Drake – “Take Care”
Just in time for Cuff Season, Drake brings up the light skin struggle music which is perfect for playing for females or playing when you’re alone and cold.
Joking aside, Drake’s sophomore effort is definitely an anticipated one which will hopefully feature some dope Hip-Hop tracks as well as some smooth R&B vocals.
While “Headlines” wasn’t the idea track we expected, hopefully Drake and 40 are ready for the cuff season takeover on October 4th.
Yelawolf – “Radioactive”
The hard work and patience of Ol’ Yeller is finally paying off with the release of his new album “Radioactive.”
The recently Interscope/Shady signed Alabama rapper has been on the rise for awhile, and with his new “Hard White” video directed by the incredible Motion Family team.
Dropping October 25th, Yella’s fast spitting head bobbing vocals are coming to soon to a speaker near you.
Wale – “Ambition”
While Wale has given us plenty of music since signing with Rick Ross and Maybach Music, many fans are still anticipating the 2nd solo album effort from the DMV native.
After the success of his “More About Nothing” mixtape and one more on the way, Wale has been working non-stop while trying to satisfy his fans and peers.
Dropping on November 1st, we are all hoping that the ambition for Wale is there.
Nappy Roots – “Nappy Dot Org”
Coming off one of the most underrated albums of last year, “The Pursuit of Nappyness,” the southern Hip-Hop group is looking to put some south in your mouth in 2011.
This time collaborating with the Atlanta Hip-Hop production team Organized Noize, the Roots are hoping Sleepy Brown and company can put some soulful sounds into their 5th studio album.
Dropping on September 27th, make sure to pick up that “feel good music” with that feel good sound.
Tech N9ne – “Welcome To Strangeland”
While Tech has put out over 15 albums and EPs, Tech still has Hip-Hop heads anticipating his latest releases simply because Tech is consistent.
Arguably the most successful Indie rapper of all time, Tech has an ear for picking the right rappers on the right track, and his lyricism isn’t so bad either.
With a new group of fans thanks to his appearance on Lil Wayne’s “Interlude” off “Tha Carter IV,” the Novermber 8th release from Tech could be one his biggest.
Young Jeezy – “Thug Motivation 103”
Maybe it’s a stretch, but I’m sure there are still die hard Jeezy fans out there who still anticipate the release of 103 right?
Despite the push backs, the lack of hit singles, and the uncertainty of if it’s actually ever going to drop, the only ATL rapper who doesn’t seem to be in jail has his chance to take over.
With an alleged date of December 20th, Jeezy really meant it when he said “Summer’s mine, Winter too.”
Pusha T – “Fear Of God Part 2: Let Us Pray”
Pusha’s got trouble on his mind, and hopefully a good follow up EP after a heavily spun “Fear Of God” mixtape.
Already working with rappers such as Tyler The Creator, Young Jeezy, 50 Cent, and producers like Kanye and Pharrell, the first solo EP on paper looks like it can be an epic one.
Dropping on September 27th, could this be the EP that makes us consider putting Pusha T in the top tier of today’s rappers?
