Top 10 Fattest Cities In America (Is Your City On The List?)

With the recent release of Men’s Health Top 100 Fittest and Fattiest Cities being released, Hip-Hop Wired as brought you the 10 fattest cities in the United States of America.

With one state having FIVE of it’s cities make the list, you will see a trend of what kind of food is popular in these obese cities, as well as the ethnicity that is most popular in these cities as well.

10. Birmingham, Alabama

With Alabama as a state ranking in the top 10 most obese states, it’s major contribution would be from the city Birmingham.  Where college football and BBQ rules, Alamaba has close to 38.4 & obese rate, and continues to grow every year.

However, with dishes like this Birmingham famous Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf, it’s no wonder why Birmingham has made it on to this years top 10 list.

9. Houston, Texas

Although many people may know Houston for candy painted cars and that Jamarcus Russell co-signed Sizzurp, many people don’t realize the obesity of Houston.  Whether it be the great BBQ food which ranges from burgers to ribs, or the Mexican food which can be loaded with meat, Houston is definitely no stranger to obesity. I advice staying away from the local drive through burger joints….

8. Baltimore, Maryland

Besides being home of the “Biggest” Hannah Montana fan, Baltimore doesn’t seem like it should be a city on the list.  With some of the best seafood in the country, many should be eating healthy dinners with fantastic seafood that cities can only dream for right?  Although that may be the case when it comes to meals, Baltimore’s obesity is highly due to its desserts.

Ranking top 3 in fattiest dessert cities, Baltimore and the outskirts of the city are known for making some of the most deliciously fatty cakes.

7. San Antonio, TX

As Texas brings it’s 2nd city on the list, we are brought to San Antonio, Texas where some of the best BBQ is cooked.  However, good food doesn’t always mean good looking, as explained by Charles Barkley.

“As much as I love San Antonio– great city– I’m not gonna miss it. You know, one thing about San Antonio, them women down there…My A$$ would look normal down there. Let me tell you something, they ain’t got no skinny women down there.”

Damn, tell them how you really feel!

6. Kansas City, MO

Kansas City is no stranger to this list, and has made its now 4th appearance on it within the past 5 years.  In the Midwest, Kansas City gets the best of both worlds of that down south fried cooking and that midwest BBQ.  However, they also get the worst of the results, resulting in a 44% obesity rate.

At least the Chiefs have started the NFL season 3-0, all that jumping up and down and cheering can be good for the fans!

5. Memphis, TN

Home of some of the best Blues, Country music, and BBQ on the planet, Memphis might be the definition of Southern BBQ.  However, they are also the definition of pork, as in they use more than any other city in the country.  With a city known for making ribs better than anyone else, pulled pork and wood grilled BBQ might have been one of the reason the King of Rock & Roll put on some pounds.

4. Dallas, TX

If there is one thing Dallas loves more than their beloved Cowboys, it’s their food.  Ranking as the 3rd city from Texas to make the list, Dallas has one of the highest obese male rate in the United States.  Ranking in the top 3 of most cooked beef in the United States, it’s not really hard to realize why so many of the men are obese.  Red meat + grease usually = something bad.

Not to mention, the way Tony Romo chokes in the playoffs, might be a reason to eat a little more comfort food.

3. El Paso, TX

If you haven’t noticed by now, the state of Texas has a little bit of an overweight problem.  However, unlike its cousin cities, El Paso is overweight for a slightly different reason.  With 64% of their obese ethnicity being Hispanic, it is safe to say most of the natives enjoy a little too many enchiladas.  Unless you count Mexico itself, El Paso has the highest rated Obese Spanish population in North America.

2. Charleston, WV

Although I wasn’t aware of Charleston, West Virgina, once I noticed it number 2 I became informed of its problem.  Not only does Charleston rank has one of the highest obese cities in America, it also ranks as one of the highest facial fat removal cities in America.  As a quick note to Charleston I would like to say, hiding the fat in your face with plastic surgery doesn’t unclog your arteries. How about a little less of the fried onion rings?

1. Corpus Christi, TX

Do you like that cowgirl Texas?  Obviously you must, because you have FIVE cities on the list, including the number one spot.  This small city around the San Antonio area is literally the center square for all the worst foods you can eat.  Whether it be the heavily greasy beef that comes in from San Antonio and Houston, or the meaty fatty Mexican food coming in from El Paso, Corpus Christi is pretty much the Mecca of all obesity in America.
