Sons: 8 Rappers Whose Children Made Headlines For Allegedly Breaking The Law

Every father (notice we said “father”) wants to be a good example to their children. But when you’re a rapper who promotes violence, misogyny and bucking the system on a daily basis, sometimes balancing being a shining example to your chirren and being a good entertainer can get tricky. Often times a rapper’s bad habits can rub off on their semi famous seeds. Then other times rappers can do all they want to do to set a good standard for their sons and daughters, but kids will be kids. It just so happens a rapper’s kid may live their life in the public eye. We can all remember our days of gun toting, robbing, stealing and pulling our johnsons out in public, right? No?
Whether the bad example was set by the rapping padre or not, here are eight rappers whose mini mes were wildin’ out and caught an L at the hands of the law…

Father: Coolio
Son: Grtis Ivey
Charge: Robbery
WTF: In November 2011, Ivey and a hooker homegirl of his were busted after they forced their way into a Las Vegas apartment and robbed the resident at gunpoint. Coolio Jr maintains that he did so in order to get back money that was owed to his friend. Needless to say, they still carted his black azz off to jail, where he was later joined by his father. But that’s a whole other story.
Father: Suge Knight
Son: Andrew Knight
Charge: Theft
WTF: Suge’s son Andrew was implicated in a theft of over $100,000 worth of bling in September 2012. Drew and Lindsay Lohan were reportedly cooling at a mutual friends’ house party when niccas came over for blunts and 40s and isht came up missing. Lohan was the one police looked at as the culprit, but she claims she was set up by lil Suge, who claims that he was given the stolen items by LiLo.
Father: Peter Gunz
Son: Cory Gunz
Charge: Weapons Possession
WTF: In January 2012, YMCMB rapper Cory Gunz, making sure he stayed true to his name, was nabbed in NYC for suspicion of criminal possession of a handgun. CG was walking the block, not too far from his home, when the police apprehended him thinking he was the subject of a recent 911 call. After searching his bag they found a loaded 9mm.

Father: Ice T
Son: Ice Marrow Jr.
Charge: Public Indecency
WTF: Ice T’s son was at a Van Nuys, CA strip club in January 2011 when he reportedly pulled his cocker spaniel out. Reports differ, with some saying he was taking a leak outside the club and others saying he was just wildin’ on that wild out. Either way he was arrested for public indecency.

Father: Rev Run
Son: JoJo Simmons
Charge: Possession of Marijuana
WTF: Lawd! Rev Run’s son took an L in 2009 when he was arrested after purchasing bud and later trying to evade the po po, backing his BMW into a police cruiser. JoJo was booked on a felony charge of attempted reckless endangerment, two misdemeanor charges of criminal use of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest and a violation for marijuana possession.
Father: Doug E. Fresh
Son: Dayquan Davis
Charge: DWI
WTF: In December 2011, Doug E Fresh’s son Dayquan “Slim” Davis was pulled over for reckless driving. Cops then noticed Fresh Jr’s blood shot eyes and slurred speech and attempted to give him a breathalyzer. Which he declined. According to police on the scene he then began flailing his arms when they attempted to hand cuff him. He was arrested on drunken driving charges.

Father: Eazy E
Son: Eric Wright Jr.
Charge: Weapons Possession
WTF: The first born son of late NWA founder Eazy E was arrested back in 2006. He was driving in L.A. down Compton Boulevard when he was pulled over for a traffic infraction, when police searched his vehicle and uncovered a handgun. The then 22-year-old aspiring rapper was charged with possession of a firearm.
Father: Birdman
Son: Lil Wayne
Charge: Weapons Possession
WTF: In 2007, Birdman Jr. was blazing a spliff in front to the Beacon following a show when the cops approached. Tunechi then allegedly attempted to hide a handgun when the fuzz boarded his tour bus. He later pled guilty to criminal weapons possession and served eight months out of his one year sentence in Rikers.
