This Tuesday, Atlanta trio Travis Porter will be releasing their debut album, From Day 1. The party starters have been through a ton of label drama, but the grassroots route that the three took to build their status has paid off with a slew of hit singles. Hip-Hop Wired now takes a look to see if the guys have what it takes to pull off an entire album’s worth of hits. 10 Rappers In The 40 & Over Club That Still Got The Glow

1.) Aww Yea

The party animals get the album started with the high energy “Aww Yea.” The Travis Porter boys know exactly who their audience is and they don’t intend to stray away from that. This song is a bouncy, energetic record that sets the pace for the album.

 2.) Pop A Rubberband

The recently released “Pop A Rubberband” is a call out to those who stand in the strip club and don’t do anything. If anything, the Porter boys know exactly how to take care of their entertainers.

3.) P***y Real Good (Feat 2 Chainz)

Travis Porter got the memo that if they wanted to release anything of importance, they had to have the one and only 2 Chainz on their album. Tity takes it back to the trap with the sound, but the lyrical content keeps TP right where they are comfortable, women and parties.

4.) Wobble

We did mention that Travis Porter are strip club favorites, right? Well this is no difference, at all. This bouncy New Orleans-inspired record is another fun record, but you start to wonder if this is getting repetitive.

5.) Ayy Ladies (feat Tyga)

I’ve always been a fan of this record. Tyga shines on his guest verse, and the infectious hand clap that is continuous on this record makes this a highly catchy record. Already a strip club favorite.

6.) Ride Like That (feat Jeremih)

Finally, a song on the album that isn’t (entirely) about strippers. Jeremih seemed to have phoned in this feature, however. You really could not tell if that was the “Birthday Sex” singer on the hook or just one of the members of Travis Porter on autotune.

7.) Flood This S**t

Here we are, right back to stripper music. Throwing money, check. Big booty strippers, check. Can you really listen to an entire album of this? Depends where you live I guess.

8.) Ballin’

Travis Porter know their lane, but for some reason this song doesn’t work. It’s the same content (obviously), but it seems like they might be getting in their own way as far as over rapping. Nobody in the world is listening to Travie for lyrics, so keep it simple guys.

9.) Party Time

Keeping in the same theme of fellow Atlanta resident, Waka Flocka Flame, Travis Porter goes for the mainstream-fist pump record for this one. Songs like this are usually hit or miss.

10.) That Feelin’(feat Mike Posner)

Finally! A Travis Porter record that doesn’t sound like every other Travis Porter record. The Justice League-produced “That Feelin” might be one of their best songs. This song actually has the trio talking about themselves and not, you know…asscheeks.

11.) Bring It Back

Were you living under a rock? “Bring It Back” still is a party starter anywhere south of the Mason-Dixon line.

12.) Make It Rain

Don’t be silly, you know this song.

In conclusion, can somebody listen to an entire album’s worth of booty shaking records? Probably not. I know I can’t. Travis Porter knows their lane and don’t even attempt to change their lane at all. A part of me can respect that, because they know what they do and they do it well. There are definitely some sure fire bangers on their including “That Feelin” and “Wobble,” but it can get a tad bit repetitive.
