Lionel McIntyre, an esteemed professor of architecture at Columbia University, was arrested for punching a female co-worker in the face while the two lounged at a Harlem after hours locale.

Professor McIntyre, known as “Mac” to others, was engaged in a heated debate about “white privilege” with Davis, a white woman, and another male faculty member when the situation came to a head.

“The punch was so loud, the kitchen workers in the back heard it over all the noise,” said Richie Velez, who witnessed the incident. “I was on my way over when he punched Camille and she fell on top of me.”

Servers at Toast, located on Broadway and 125th Street, have said that this is not the first time the professor became too rambunctious, with an instance of rowdiness having occurred not more than a couple of weeks ago.

McIntyre was released without bail during his arraignment proceeding a few nights ago.

Davis suffered a bruised ego and black eye as a result of the sucker punch.
