After a record setting crowd in Miami’s SunLife Stadium, celebrity cameos from Diddy, Alex Rodriguez, Chili, Flo-Rida and being the social media event of the year, do you still think people don’t watch pro wrestling? You’d be sadly mistaken my friend, because in the past 12 months pro wrestling has been regaining traction and popularity that it has lacked since the days of Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. This past weekend, I got to take in WWE  Wrestlemania XXVIII in all of its glory in beautiful Miami, Florida and here are some of the things you may or may not have saw in the past 4 days.

Mike Tyson Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame

It can be argued that Mike Tyson was the catalyst of the WWE’s greatest era, the Attitude Era. On the road to Stone Cold Steve Austin’s first reign as WWE Champion, it was his feud with Mike Tyson that put the company back on the mainstream map for the first time since the Hulk Hogan era. Tyson, a life long wrestling fan, counted the 1,2,3 to crown Stone Cold for his first WWE title and kick off one of the most successful reigns in WWE history.

The Four Horsemen Inducted Into The WWE Hall Of Fame

With apologies to King Hov, the Four Horsemen truly invented swag. Arn Anderson, JJ Dillon, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham and the “Nature Boy” Ric Flair took their rightful place in the WWE Hall Of Fame. Once more, Ric Flair became the first pro wrestler to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame twice.

“YES!”

The plan was to bury Daniel Bryan in a quick an explosive World Title match to kick of Wrestlemania. Instead, they have created a phenomenon. In a weekend that included The Rock, John Cena, Triple H, Undertaker, Ric Flair and more, it was scrawny heel, Daniel Bryan, that became the biggest star of them all.

The “End Of An Era”

In what was probably the last time you’ll ever see Triple H, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels all in a ring together, the three future hall of famers put on an epic tale of story telling in a match that might not be topped for years to come.

CM Punk’s Entrance Living Colour’s “Cult Of Personality,” is the reigning champion of entrance themes in the WWE. So as the WWE Champion, CM Punk, walked into the stadium with synchronized fireworks to the explosive song, it made for an epic moment for the “Best In The World.”

Diddy and Machine Gun Kelly Get Booed

People really do not like John Cena. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s opponent is so despised that everything associated with him this weekend got booed out of the building. Diddy and MGK were no exception.

Hours after Wrestlemania wrapped up, everyone’s #1 frontrunner, Lil Wayne, partied with a replica of the WWE’s crown jewel.

Brock Lesnar’s Stunning Return

The return of Brock Lesnar, former UFC Heavyweight Champion and WWE Heavyweight champion was the biggest shocker of them all throughout the weekend. When he unexpectedly retired after getting beaten to a pulp by Alistair Overeem, most thought that going back to the WWE would be a fail. However, judging by this crowd reaction, we’ll all take the convenient amnesia.

The Rock Comes Home

The biggest star of the weekend was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, obviously. The hometown boy and former Miami Hurricane returned back to his WWE roots and put a stomping on John Cena in his first one on one wrestling match in over seven years. One of the most recognizable actors in the world and greatest professional wrestlers of all time proved that he hadn’t lost a step and he is still “The People’s Champion.”
