Six years. It’s been six long years since the last episode of the legendary BET Uncut aired on July 8th, 2006. The series that spawned cult classics and made major label artists go back to the drawing board to appeal to the shows ever growing audience. Without a doubt the most controversial show in the history of Black Entertainment Television, BET Uncut, marked a cultural shift in the way we see music videos, musical related content, and where we draw the line of decency when it comes to Hip-Hop.

Without the popular show to house all of these videos, where would a internet juggernaut like WorldStar be? Would an artist like Lil’ Jon have become as popular as he did? Will we ever know what that thang smell like? Will we ever see another credit card slide down a woman’s buttcrack? All questions that demand answers. With news breaking out that Nelly and T.I. are ready to release the sequel to the show’s most popular and controversial video, “Tip Drill,” let’s look back at some of the most notable videos in the history of BET Uncut. Think we missed one of your favorite videos? Let us know down below.

Black Jesus – “What That Thang Smell Like?”

In this classic video, an old man grants access to women into the club judging by what their finger smells like. Before high-definition cameras were affordable to any aspiring director, all you had was a 30 pound hunk of junk and a great imagination.

Mighty Casey – “White Girls”

Mighty Casey, who bares a freaky resemblance to Drake and Luis Guzman, sung about his affinity for women that lack melanin. A staple of BET Uncut was the cheesy, yet hilariously catchy hooks. This song was no exception.

Heather Hunter – “So Serious”http://cdn.springboard.gorillanation.com/storage/js/sb.html5.js

Adult film star, Heather Hunter, could have only gotten her music video played on BET through BET Uncut. Before you go ahead and judge her for a Adult Videos star trying to rap, remember that Kim Kardashian is America’s sweetheart and that Kreayshawn thing happened. Yeah,  I thought so.

Ali & Gipp ft. Murphy Lee – “Work Dat, Twerk Dat”

The precursor to the credit card swipe heard around the world was Ali & Gipp’s “Work Dat, Twerk Dat.” Under Nelly’s Derty ENT., Ali, Gipp and Murphy Lee built a buzz for this video which was a staple on the show for most of its duration.

Bizzy Bone ft. Joker The Bailbondsman – “Uh Huh”

Bone Thugs and Harmony was on top of the world at one point. This wasn’t one of those points. Bizzy Bone snatched up his homies for the video for this record to sing about two things he loved: some A$$ with the cash. Now isn’t that what life is all about?

Wax-A-Million – “No Panties On The Dance Floor”

Low budget camera? Check. Crude hook? check. Strippers? check. All the perfect ingredients for a BET Uncut classic.

Crazy Al Cayne – “T&A”

Comedian turned struggle rapper Al Cayne got his big break when this video was added to the BET Uncut rotation. Everything about this video was almost satirical of what BET Uncut was all about. Terrible music, breasts, A$$, and shoddy production.

Ludacris ft. Lil’ Fate and Shawnna – “P. Poppin”

As far as I can remember, Ludacris was one of the first major artists to take the leap into making videos strictly to get on BET Uncut. This Chicken-N-Beer cut is one of the staples of the television show.

Lil’ Jon and The Eastside Boyz ft. Ludacris, Chyna White, and Too Short – “Bia Bia”

The first time I saw this video, I wondered to myself “who is this scary man yelling at me, and why can’t I stop dancing to this song?” This man was Lil’ Jon, and he was only getting started when it came to yelling at me and making me dance.

50 Cent – “Disco Inferno”

Curtis Jackson was on top of the world, G-Unit was and unstoppable force and The Massacre was about to…wait a minute. Is that Nick Cannon?! Who says the hood don’t love Nick Cannon? That’s not very Nickelodeon of you, homie!

Afroman – “Because I Got High”

A hilarious movie about two stoners (Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back) are only as good as the stoner tunes that it provides. This instant classic was a hand in glove fit. A simple, yet hilarious that couldn’t possibly be played during prime time hours.

Trina – “Pull Over”

Trina, aka “The Baddest B***h,” was shot out of a rocket with this catchy record. The BET Uncut version of the video made it a favorite amongst men, but the hilarious Sisqo-look alike? I could have lived without seeing that.

Nelly And The St. Lunatics – “Tip Drill”

All (sort of) good things must come to an end, and with BET Uncut, the shows death knell was Nelly’s magnum opus, “Tip Drill.” A video which set off a complete firestorm at Spelman College, ended up on MSNBC, Fox News, and other news programs for going absolutely too far. There might have been more lewd videos, and more raunchy lyrics, but at this time the R.I.A.A certified-Diamond Nelly was the hottest act in music. This video didn’t do terrible damage to his popularity at the time, but it did ruffle the feathers of many women’s groups and caused him a huge chunk of charity change. It was this video that many believe was the straw that broke the camels back on BET Uncut and ended having its plug pulled. Oh well, we will always have the credit card swipe.
