The rumors are true! Michael Vick is officially getting his own reality show. The network that brought you “quality family programming” like Frankie & Neffe and Tiny & Toya is expanding their docu- series lineup with a new show focusing on the life and times of Michael Vick.
The LA Times reports that his eight-part docu-series is scheduled to air early next year and is tentatively titled “The Michael Vick Project.” It will spotlight his controversial comeback with the Philadelphia Eagles and look at his past including his troubled childhood and infamous 2007 arrest.
The Times further confirmed the rumor with an interview with Vick conducted last week. He tells the paper he wants to be seen as a “human being.”
“I just want people to really get to know me as an individual,” Vick said last week in an interview from his home in Philadelphia. “What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I’ve made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it’s not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up.”
Producers for the project are being sure to emphasize that his program will be more of a docu-series and not a reality show like Terrell Owen’s ‘T.O. Show’. The tone of his show is said to be somber and serious. It will also show his strained relationship with fiancée Kijafa Frink, and his children.
