With her debut album, Trendsetter set to release tomorrow (April 8), Coi Leray is finally going to get her time in the limelight after months of building buzz and dropping a banger with the Barbz herself, Nicki Minaj.
Earlier this week the Boston representative (and daughter of the infamous Benzino), swing by The Breakfast Club where she lowkey called Charlamagne a “dinosaur” before going into a bevy of interesting subjects that her fans might be interested in.
From touching on how she was able to get Nicki Minaj on her album to her paranoia now that she’s a celebrity, Coi isn’t shy about keeping it a buck in her interview and for that we’re grateful.

Coi’s had her braces for two years so far to help with her overbite. She says she even sucks on her thumb to this day and calls it her “peace and happiness.” She’s 25-years-old by the way. Old pervs gonna really keep an eye on her now.

Explaining how she got Nicki Minaj on “Blick Blick!,” Coi says that Nicki heard the record “through the grapevine” and word got back to her team that Nicki “f*cking loved” the record. Then she got word that Nicki wanted to be on it and was gonna do a verse. Sure enough she got sent the verse and the rest was history. She says that Nicki told her she loves her and wants to continue to support her. Props to Nicki.
Coi says that she’s still rebuilding her relationship with her father, Benzino, and ultimately he was the one that leaked word that Coi and Nicki had a record together while he was on Clubhouse. Coi was scared that Nicki was going to dead the release of the record but after speaking with Nicki, the Barbz explained that her dad is her dad and sh*t happens.

Even though she herself is a female rapper on the rise, Coi admits that she doesn’t “like to listen to women as much” when it comes to Hip-Hop. “I love females in the music, but certain things I just can’t relate to.” Well, at least she’s honest about where she stands on that topic.

Even though she still thinks her ex-boyfriend Pressa is “cute” andn whatnot, Coi says that she doesn’t miss him at all and is “super happy” and “level headed” being on her own. That must sting him a little. Just sayin.’

Coi admits that the price of fame got her rolling incognito forreal. She says that due to being “paranoid,” she doesn’t go anywhere and when she does she makes sure she rolls in the darkest tinted car available.

Interestingly enough, Coi says she dropped out of high school in 10th grade. Luckily she was able to make a career for herself. Doesn’t mean you should follow in her footsteps though. Just sayin.’

While she doesn’t have any kids yet, Coi is down to have one or two “depending how it goes” relationship wise. She says she may have a kid just for herself ultimately.
