In a year that had two of the biggest rappers collaborate on an album, another rapper selling almost 1,000,000 copies in 1 week,  and the current Queen of R&B getting knocked up, 2011 definitely had  some memorable moments.

However, with anticipation and excitement comes disappointment, and 2011 was also filled with that as well.

Whether it was Jeezy’s pathetic “return” or  collaborations we’ve waited for all year to only roll our eyes at, we’ve had a fair share of disappointing tracks and still have a couple months to go.

Peep the page #’s below to see some of our most disappointing tracks of the year, and make sure to comment and let us know your own.

Ace Hood – “Go  Get It”

I know the phrase is don’t fix what’s not broken, but damn Ace…that doesn’t mean put out the same song twice!

“Hustle Hard” could have easily been the summer anthem if it wasn’t for it’s release in February.

Every club, radio, and party constantly had the Lex Luger production on constant rotation and put all eyes on Ace Hood for a follow up single we just knew was going to be a smasher right?

Smh…

Jay Electronica – “Act II: Patent Of Nobilty (the turn) [ruff demo]”

I think I’m more disappointed in Jay Electronica overall than I am the song he recently leaked off his upcoming album.

While the only thing we’ve got from Jay Electronica this year is pictures and videos of him planking on pyramids in Egypt, a few days ago Jay released a demo from his upcoming album that made Hip-Hop heads wake up after the long nap we took while waiting.

What we thought was going to be a godly track ended up sounding like a song recorded in the basement of the “BasedGod.”

T.I. & B.O.B. – “We Don’t Get Down Like Y’all”

When you hear The King and his prodigy did a track together, you automatically assume that it’s going to be a banger.

Although Bobby on a mainstream level is known as having catchy hooks and romantic ballads, those who listened to his “Beast Mode” mixtape know that he can spit.

But, instead we ended up with this…

J. Cole Ft. Jay-Z –  “Mr. Nice Watch”

We gave J. Cole a pass when he decided to go with “Work Out” as a single, and this is how we’re thanked?

Cole is a talented dude that we’ve been patiently waiting for to shine, but how many disappointments are we gonna get?

No good single, no good Jay-z collaboration, no chance to see Rihanna having sex, it’s getting old.

Kanye West & Jay-Z – “H.A.M.”

If I told you that Jay-Z was involved in two of the worst collaborations of the year, it wouldn’t be believable right?

Even though Watch The Throne was a good album, a couple of us outside of all the twitter hype from Elliot Wilson and company, kept a side eye on the album and whether or not it would all sound like H.A.M.

Thankfully it didn’t, because I don’t know how much of this apocalyptic Lex Luger music I can take..

Damn near everything Jeezy put out.

Even after “Jizzle” I kept hope for Jeezy and just knew that TM 103 was going to be a summer banger.

However, after a horrible mixtape, a TM 101 5 year anniversary show that came a year too late, and constant push backs to the album, I’m not sure what’s left to believe in.

Except for the Weezy assisted “Ballin” record, what has Jeezy put out lately worth listening to?

This?

Rick Ross & Lil Wayne – “9 Piece”

The song was dropped on the Ashes To Ashes tape on Xmas eve, but it’s close enough to 2011.

While this song isn’t much different from other Rick Ross songs, that’ exactly why it was disappointing.

Ross and Wayne have this unique chemistry that we’ve seen on tracks, so when this unenthusiastic track dropped, a lot of us were left feeling unamused.

Are we sure these aren’t all the same Lex Luger beats just chopped up differently?

Wale & Rick Ross – “600 Benz”

I always felt that Wale’s talent would grow with his dreads and since his dreads haven’t grown at all in damn near 3 years, I guess I can’t be mad then.

Not to say the song is bad, but when the announcement was made that Wale and Ross were doing tracks together, I guess I expected something different.

Plus, Benz are not made in Japan and the line “I get that work on my face” is still pausable no matter how hard you say it. (another pause)
